h3. The _*Lindsay Ann Burke Memorial Fund*_ presents teen dating violence workshops for health teachers, middle and high school staff, parents, and the public. We offer school staff trainings on-site at your school. Interested schools should contact us at labmf@cox.net.

The goals of the health teacher workshops are to increase knowledge and understanding of healthy vs.unhealthy relationships, increase knowledge of teen dating violence curriculum materials, increase understanding of how to respond to teen victims, and increase knowledge of the availability of community resources. Participants learn the dynamics of teen dating violence, discuss various curriculum and educational activities, hear from members of community agencies, see a teen dating violence skit performed by students, and their schools receive free curriculum materials to be used in their classrooms. *Safe Dates*, recognized by the US Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration as a model program, is the major and most expensive piece of curriculum given to Rhode Island schools. In addition, participants receive other curriculum materials and lesson plans on teen dating violence. All curriculum books and DVD's are donated by LABMF to the participant's Rhode Island school. We also offer trainings for school staff and parents. The goals of these workshops are the same as our all day workshop, but also emphasize the importance of communication between parents/staff and teens.
