SKHS Pumpkin Illumination
South Kingstown High School Health Teacher Karen Murphy and her students carved hundreds of pumpkins for this annual fundraiser. The pumpkins were a work of art, each having a different design cutout. They illuminated a very long and winding path through the woods near CCMS. Before sundown students could be seen busily setting up and lighting the display and through the initiative of one student, reporters from Channel 12 covered the event on the local news. This year the proceeds were donated to the Lindsay Ann Burke Memorial Fund. LABMF is grateful to Ms. Murphy and her students for their donation to our cause and for their commitment to ending dating violence. Thank you!!

About Lindsay
Lindsay could easily be described as the “the girl next door”. She grew up on a small street in the suburbs, knowing all the neighbors and playing with all the children in the neighborhood. They went to school together, played in the neighborhood together, celebrated birthdays together, went to extra-curricular activities together, attended religious education classes together, and sometimes, even went on vacation together. Some of her closest friends from our old neighborhood felt much sadness and pain upon hearing of her murder. Read more about Lindsay’s story.
