School Staff
Workshops are available for Rhode Island middle and high school staff on the topic of teen dating violence, RIDE’s Model Policy & implementing the Lindsay Ann Burke Act:

The goals of the staff workshops are to increase knowledge and understanding of healthy vs.unhealthy relationships, increase knowledge of teen dating violence curriculum materials, increase understanding of how to respond to teen victims, and increase knowledge of the availability of community resources. Implementing the Lindsay Ann Burke Act and creating a dating violence policy is also covered. We also offer trainings for parents. The goals of these workshops are the same, but also emphasize the importance of communication between parents/staff and teens.
Topics covered in each workshop include:
- Types of violence
- Warning signs of an abusive relationship
- Cycle of abuse
- Healthy vs. unhealthy relationships
- Why don’t they just leave?
- How to help: Do’s and Don’ts
- Community Resources
